There are so many flooring options when it comes to interior design to suit a range of budgets, looks and functionality. We spoke with Damien from Terra Flooring about the different options he works with on a day-to-day basis and answer the most popular three questions:
What are the different types of flooring that you offer at Terra Flooring?
Broadloom carpets
carpet tiles and carpet planks
Vinyl planks and vinyl tiles
Hybrid vinyl
commercial vinyl
Engineered timber flooring
Which is the most durable?
"The most durable would be timber [because] it can be refinished unlike the others. The sun really takes a toll on Vinyl, Hybrid and timber because of the UV. I would recommend if there are sliding doors and low-lying windows for them to have clear UV tint - this will give the floor an extended life (look-wise)".
What is the order of affordability?
"Carpet can be the cheapest but that would also depend on quality. If there is no prep involved it would be in order (from least-expensive to most expensive) as follows:
1) Carpet
2) Vinyl
3) Hybrid Vinyl
4) Timber flooring"
We asked Damien for any tips and tricks when it comes to the care and maintenance of the above. It was so in-depth that we'll have to share these with you in a separate blog post, so keep an eye out!
