Australia Bushfire Crisis: Supporting Small Businesses

Our hearts are heavy seeing all of the death and destruction the bushfires have caused over the last few months. Along with the millions of bushland lost and thousands of homes destroyed, countless small business have been affected in a time that would normally be peak season for business. With our love for all things design and home-related, we thought we'd list a handful of these businesses that deserve our help.

Owning a small business is hard at the best of times, so everyone: please get out your credit cards and buy all those gorgeous items you want to update your home with! Remember that you're spending for a great cause - not to mention your home will look absolutely beautiful.

White Earth

This beautiful store is located in the coastal town of Huskisson, on the shores of Jervis Bay, and sells gorgeous natural health, beauty and homewares products.

What's on our shopping list, you ask? The Salus Candle in Ylang Ylang, because we want to feel like we're on an island holiday at home.

The Hub Home Trader

Staying true to its name, The Hub Home Trader is definitely "the hub" when it comes to furniture and decorative home accessories in the dairy town of Bega. You'll find beautiful textures and natural tones throughout their pieces.

Our favourites? The Kyoto Table Lamp and the Angus Marble Round Trivet. Layer the trivet with your favourite vase with greenery and a candle for a super cute vignette.

Spaces 2538

Owned by a lovely young couple, you can find this gorgeous shop in the quaint rural town of Milton, NSW. They have a beautiful array of decorative accessories and furniture, and Gab, co-owner of Spaces 2538, has a keen eye for gorgeous vignettes (see their instagram for sneak-peeks of inside the store).

There are so many super cool pieces available, but one that stands out to us in particular is the Sugar Grinder Stool in Black - buy quick because this one is for sure going to sell out! We'd pair it next to a timber-frame armchair with some neutral, textured cushions.

Twisted Willow Homestore

What a sweet, warm and welcoming spot to buy the best of the best for your home. Twisted Willow Homestore is in the rural NSW town of Tumbarumba and has a lovely display of cool terrazzo planters, candles, artwork and fashion (to name a few). What drew us to this store is the slight rustic appeal and how inviting it is.

We love the linen waffle throws, the Almeria Throw, and the Jute Placemat to help add to your interior.

Come on, people - let's get together and help these talented small businesses start 2020 on the right foot!
