Welcome to the beautiful Sunshine Coast hinterland, where one of our latest interior decoration projects takes place. We were engaged to furnish this stunning contemporary architecturally-designed holiday home for our client to enjoy with friends and family.
For this Sunshine Coast home, interior design and decoration inspiration came from the lush tropical gardens surrounding the elevated property. A neutral palette with a blend of putty, beige and greys was chosen for the base, and layered with subtle accents of sage and olive throughout the main spaces to reference the beautiful green vista.
The brief was for a fresh, calm, minimalist and contemporary interior. We opted for beautiful timber furniture pieces to feature throughout the home to complement the existing interior design finishes. A mix of textural details and curved silhouettes were used to soften and add to the serene feeling of the home's interior.
The living room on the main level sits within the main thoroughfare between the oversized glass sliding doors that access the sparkling in-ground pool, and the vast dining room and kitchen. A light tonal palette was chosen for this space to let the natural surroundings shine.
The furniture layout was kept open to the adjoining verandah and dining room to encourage conversation, acting as the heart of the home to entertain or unwind.
With the minimalist interior design style of this living room, it was important for us to add balance by incorporating textural elements, as seen in the woven wool rug, rattan-front detailing in the gorgeous timber entertainment unit, and the sculptural stone-like qualities of the coffee table.
These textural elements are referenced throughout the rest of the home for a sense of calm and cohesiveness, flowing into the bedrooms.
This contemporary coastal home's interior design and decoration style flows out onto the main verandah, which boasts a large 10-seater dining setting made for the Sunshine Coast elements. Given this holiday home will welcome friends and family year-round, we really wanted to ensure that practicality meets style for the ultimate in stress-free living.
